If you are a family member caring for an elder in your home, then your situation may be eligible for Georgia’s Structured Family Caregiver program. This is made available through the Georgia Medicaid Elderly and Disabled Waiver program. If the elder you are caring for in your home is eligible for Medicaid in the state of Georgia, then you might qualify for this program!

About the Structured Family Caregiver Program
The program is designed to provide support for a family caregiver living with an elderly and/or disabled family member. Their elder family member may struggle with tasks of daily living, require assistance around the home, and/or upkeep of personal hygiene. The family caregiver must be living with the elder family member in the home and currently unpaid for their assistance, and the elder family member must be assessed with a need for personal care for at least five hours on a daily basis.
The family caregiver must be a relative, but not a spouse. Siblings, in-laws, children, and grandchildren are excellent examples of family caregivers eligible for the Structured Family Caregiver program. The elder family member must also be living with the family caregiver, or vice versa.

Tax-Free Pay for Family Caregiver
Once approved for the program, the family caregiver will receive a tax-free financial stipend for their caregiving services to their elder family member. The stipend can be scheduled on a weekly or monthly basis, whichever they choose.
Support from an RN
Your Choice Atlanta Home Care is pleased to be able to provide support to family caregivers. Family caregivers will receive support from a Registered Nurse from the Your Choice Home Care agency to help ensure their elder family member is received the highest quality care.
